While trusting the beliefs of experts is a dangerous, and possibly foolish thing to do, the classifications of rapists used by some experts is interesting. (Please excuse the sexism here in assuming the gender of the perpetrator).

• Power Reassurance Rapist - who fantasizes that he is a great lover, and that his victim is enjoying it. This person is confused, and usually socially totally inept.
• Power Assertive Rapist - who just regards it as his right, and has no concern for the victim's feelings, this is not really about power - the rapist just has no respect for other people's feelings, such as psychopath.
• Anger Hostility Rapist - who takes out his anger on his victim. This is largely about revenge.
• Anger Excitation Rapist - who enjoys the sadistic inflicting of pain. This is largely about power.
• Opportunistic Rapist - who just sees the opportunity and grabs it. Like a drunken person passed out on the couch after a party. This is largely about sexual drive.

The popular feminist slogan that 'rape is not about sex, but power' is (like most leftist slogans) partially true.
