For instance most rich people don't consume many Holdens. They choose to buy Porches and Ferraris instead. Poorer people tend to buy Holdens because they can't afford (or choose not to buy) the more expensive forms of transport.
Basic food is also an inferior good. Rich people are more likely to go out to expensive restaurants to eat.
One irony of inferior goods is that they actually lower the market value of the superior goods. Clearly if Holdens were not available, more people would choose to spend the extra money on expensive sports cars, and the extra demand would increase their price even further. Instead many people choose to be satisfied with their Holdens.
