Generally the protests are anti-capitalist, anti-globalization anti-business.
The average age of the protesters is such that the majority of them have never worked for themselves and never taken responsibility for their own actions. There are some 'old-timers' in the ranks, but they are normally sad and defeated individuals who are an embarrassment to the younger members.
The older socialists are people who invested so much into socialism that they forgot to actually do something with their lives. Renouncing socialism would mean admitting that they have wasted most of their lives on something asinine and stupid. They take the easier path, which is to deny it, and continue the sheep-like bleating of leftist platitudes. Eventually they will die out, and the world will be a better place.
