D: A suggestion of how to maximize utility.

The most misused word in the English language.

The word has some integrity when used to maximize utility in a particular field. For instance "You should unplug the toaster before sticking the knife into it" makes sense in the context of a utility function - staying alive.

However most people use it as a subtle means of control. When someone say 'You should clean your room more often.' they really mean 'I want to you do clean your room up more often, but cannot justify it with any reason.'. It also a statement of morality.

Within this work, should is used as a statement to maximize utility for a particular purpose (like reproduction maximization), or to comply with morality.
