Yanno, I rather like the Australian voting system. I also like that our head of state isn't one which uses her power very often. Please don't diss Australia's democracy. Your country's is not better in any way. It mightnt neccesarily be worse, but it has enough issues to not be on the highground. For one thing, only those who are wealthy or are from upper society (have contacts) even have a chance. By having partys need to raise their funds encourages corruption (you scratch my back...). A voluntary voting system also means you get a much less accurate picture of where people stand. Names like "Kennedy" and "Bush" make me wonder if you aren't so different from the Monarchy.
