The debate proper about whether tax is theft has been run and won, or lost in your case, so I do not intend to re-engage in it. I'll simply say that while tax may be bad, evil, without purpose or an example of vloxoropasy, that does not make it theft. Nor would tax being "like" theft make it theft. I will also point out that the definitions I submitted and analysed during this debate, like those submitted by 24601, came from dictionaries; not from governments. Your fantasies about the non-existence of market failure are interesting, but you have not shown how they are at all relevant to the issue of whether tax is theft.

More importantly though, the real question is why Libertarians continue to try to defend the indefensible on this point. Libertarians, even beffuddled ones, have some useful insights to offer on a range of matters. It does their credibiility no good, however, to continue to peddle a piece of polemical nonsense that has already been comprehensively demolished on this website.
