I'm not sure if it is immigration that causes riots. Taking a quick glance back through history I can't see a particular correlation. The US seemed to cope with a broad range of immigrants. The link between unemployment and anti-social behaviour might hold better, but bugger if I'm going to do the econometrics. Though if the west has set itself on declaring all muslims their enemy -- it will probably end up a self-fulfilling prophecy. That would be a shame.
