Again, I realize you were speaking figuratively, but I don't think peacocks
have penises. I can't find the Dawkin's reference, but I found one on the ABC
site:
Most male birds don't have penises - they copulate by briefly touching genital
openings, called a 'cloacal kiss',
Some clearly do - there is a photo of a duck with a 42cm penis which you may
not want the wife to see. A "cloacal kiss" doesn't sound nearly as satisfying as your description of
mating Peacocks ... :)
