welfare to new arrivals who have never even paid tax in this country, and then
pass laws which forbid people from taking steps to remove themselves from the
situation. Given that we have a social democracy, and are likely to be stuck with one
for the foreseeable future, a protected-border social democracy is
much superior to an open-border one. The choice is between
- putting up with other Australians voting themselves your money through the
public trough; or
- putting up with the entire world voting themselves your money through the
public trough.
Surely no-brainer if ever there was one.
