>> Not questioning your theory, just your maths. :-p

>> $10?

I think you are confused by the maths yourself.

Are you defining the PERFECT life saving matter as something which will definitely save your life, or definitely save your life in an accident? (Read the footnote in the original article).

If it will (almost) definitely save your life (eg it's a parachute, and you have just fallen out of an airplane) and you are only willing to pay $1000 for it, then that's your value on you own life. I never said it was the worth of your life - I haven't defined that, and I don't really care.

>> I don?t know about you, but my noggin is worth more than
$10...

Good for you. Tell someone who cares.

>> I am not sure, but with your sum, the crappier the life saving device (or the
>> more it costs your for the same effect) the more your are worth? (or the more
>> it costs your for the same effecting result)

I think you have confused the maths. Study the original article, and the comments above, and think it through.

>> All the crazy kids you mentioned who just can't resist throwing little rocks at

Oh man, them kids .. they just so crazy ..

>> Not only do they NOT waste their money on
>> useless inventions like ?air bag?,

You have given no evidence that air bags are useless. The public perception is that they decrease risk. You have evidence to the contrary, please state your argument, or at least make your assumption overt.

>> but because they are not willing to invest
>> in the new fancy life saving technology (settling for a wooden shield) they

No, you are just confused. Maths A01. OK?

>> And this
>> is even more interesting when we incorporate the suicide bombers, these guys
>> are often paid to carry around their "life saving device". (Although its not
>> going to save them unless it breaks their fall) However, their device has an

>> small?)

Most school children learn about negative numbers. Wearing a set of explosive overalls increases your chance of dying. Ie, the expectation value of saving your life does not approach zero, it is negative. Do the sums. Or do the subtraction. Or whatever.

>> which would result in an infinitely large figure for their value of
life...

I know it's in bad form to point out someone's ignorance or lack of education, but you are clearly ignorant of basic mathematics. There's no shame in that - everyone has to learn, but I will suggest that you will learn more by studying some basic maths than posting about mathematical concepts.

>> Now the big questions; is some nut fanatic out their only blowing people up
>> because they see the opportunity to be valued so highly before god...?

Silly.
