Tell me this Richard, if public works, military campaigns and poverty alleviation can be provided for publicly, and much of the apparently justified reasons for state action are in fact poorly reasoned assumptions, (such as the lighthouse), what purpose does taxation serve?

Maybe capitalists really are evil, and they need to be punished, no matter the cost.

If tax isn't theft, is it extortion? Given that 15% of the economy is underground, and more people have tax agents than home insurance (figure of speech, but it would be interesting), doesn't it seem like organised theft (or extortion)? Nearly everyone is prepared to pay in lost employment and income to dodge taxes. Somewhat like isnuracne or the police that taxes pay for, and who are employed nominally to deter theft.

There are many refereed articles on the myth of market failure. Can you show me anyone who seriously can "demolish" the arguments of Klein, Coase or Umbeck? What about the Hanseatic League? Is it just a piece of moronic libertarian theology?

All you show, by how you choose definitions (Governemnt defined) is a personal choice: that you beleive in Statism. Just don't force it on me.
