>> >> ABL: "What is wrong with allowing those at Marches to have access to fast food etc?" >> My mistake. Thought you were calling for retraction of Anzac Day as a public
>> holiday/day of remembrance. Without wishing to preempt ABLs reply, or to dictate his opinions, I
suspect that ABL is opposed to the government making any rulings restricting
free trade, including
- Prevent people from trading on any day (or night) they choose.
- Forcing people to pay other people even though they are not delivering a
service.
- Dictating that some people pay extra for a good or service on a partular day.
- Taking away people's right to work on a particular day.
Public holidays seem to do all of these things to some degree. My main service client (ie employer) and I have the right to work out rates
of remuneration and times of service between ourselves without interference of
government, unions, social workers, retarded lesbian land-rights protestors or
anyone else. It's not their business.
