It is important to distinguish the good part of the policy with the bad part of the policy only if you believe that the policy is perfectable. I'm just far too cynical to believe there is such an option of: I'll take all the good from government and leave all the bad please. There are many other problems to PBS besides the over-use of pharmaceuticals. Most especially, there is no price differentiation and there is significant capture.
