Judy, are you to say there are right and wrong times to tell the truth, and ask Government to be accountable? Seems a bit like the Americans who won't listen to information pointing towards incompetence or overstrecthced resources of the intelligence community, or the adventurous US foreign policy, re, s11. There was an inquiry into the ACT fire preparedness years ago, called the Mac Beth report (is that a report I see before me?). It predicted such a disaster. It's the time to start pointing fingers, and funnily enough, Kate Carnell is said to be involved in a commission looking into the fires. It's hard not to blame the ACT Government when they control the pine plantations, and have set very restrictive rules on land clearance and compulsury forestation. Now Is uppose they will buy 500 fire trucks that will never be used, or obselete when the next disaster occurs.
