fatfingers... you've been around long enough to know that what you've written here is not true. Many libertarians (indeed, most) accept some role for government. All government actions (by definition) are either redundant or they violate rights. Therefore, nearly all libertarians accept that, in some situations, it is appropriate to violate rights. The differentiating factor with libertarians is that we see very few instances where that violation is acceptable - whereas other political philosophies see many more instances where violence/coercion can be justified. For a utilitarian, this is generally due either to a greater understanding of the free market (people don't like what they don't understand) or a greater fear/distrust of the government. So - be careful with your 'a libertarian has to oppose all government' strawmen. We've already got one strawman here, we don't need any more. :)
