The US ruling is a two-edged sword. The US will (I believe) allow you to renounce your citizeship (someone please correct me if I am wrong), but if you want US citizenship, and the benefits it brings (eg having the US send a carrier group to get you out of trouble in a ratbag foreign nation) you have to pay income tax (ie protection money). Don't think of it so much as a violation of right so much as a voluntary international protection racket. Now compare that to China which does not allow you renounce citizship ('all flesh still belong to us').
