I agree that no western nation is declaring islam the enemy. I guess I should have said "if enough western people declare islam the enemy -- it will probably end up a self-fulfilling prophecy for all of us". In my opinion, when people talk about the terror threat what they mean is "islamic socialism", and personally I think it is the second word there that is the problem. I can't see how islamic libertarians would be a threat to anybody. But christian (or nationalist, or soviet etc) socialists are always a threat.
