It was the ALP who changed the legislation in the first place- undocumented arrivals were turned around at the entry point and had to apply for asylum from the point of joining the flight/ship. These sods created the problem and now want to prevent any attempt to fix it. None of the persons currently in detention have any reason to still be here- they have lost all appeals, and have deportation orders on them- why haven't they been deported?
