come to mind. Not the choice I would normally take, but a viable alternative if I don't like using the Hume, or if I want to spray graffiti on the wall outside The Lodge. Have you noticed that the road system of Australia is not a single spanning tree topology? The road structure is highly redundant. Far from decreasing efficiency, as you suggest, it actually increases it. And the further away your source and destination, the more choice you have.
