I base it on econometric studies done in the US in the
1970s? Each execution deters eight other murderers. At least now I have picked an econometric project for this semester. I have said this elsewhere, I only support capital punsihment for treason, sedition, mutiny or terrorsim, because too often in murder cases, there are innocents executed. These other crimes have different circumstances. Death holds no fear for Amrozi? Why the appeal? Why didn't he wear a semtex shirt into Paddy's Bar? Sure it does. Not every extremist buys into the 72 virgins myth.
