Strawman makes a good point . If Pauline deserves 3 years what do the rest of the politicians deserve . The death penalty at least . Bear in mind that every penny was repaid . Pauline was of previous good character and the only politician in living memory who has consistently told the truth . For this she received a custodial sentence . Not unheard of. Remember Watergate ? Gordon Liddy was convicted of a burglary where there was no forced entry , nothing was taken , no one was hurt . He was an ex trial lawyer ,ex marine ,and ex FBI Agent with not a blemish on his record. He was sentenced to 22 years hard labour . We thought only in America ! Gordon Liddy wrote a book in which he set out facts which he had ascertained about the judge who sentenced him . He anticipated that he would have the opportunity to prove his assertions with sworn evidence when the Judge sued for defamation . Of course that never happened . The Judge had no intention of exposing himself to Court process. The media is silent on the procedural steps whereby this travesty in the outcome of Pauline Hanson's prosecution came about . The transcript of the proceedings is not available .Far less important cases have great slabs of transcript available instantly . There has been no expose of the people who took part in the process , particularly the Judge. Why the carry-on about Tony Abbott's fund of 1998 as if it had anything to do with this politically polluted outcome of the Justice system ? Why no information about the real matter of concern ?
