Setting out the Tony Jones/Tony Abbott discussion in the manner that Strawman did makes it seem clear that Abbot said "absolutely not" to the question of whether funds "from any source" had been used to derail One Nation. Thus, it appears that he lied. Yet if one watches the video of the interview, Abbott stated absolutely not to the first question - about funding "from party sources" - and appeared to be continuing on with that same line of though when Jones threw in the second "from any source" point. Abbott's eye's were closed at this stage and, as a student of body language, it seems more than plausible to me that he did not register the second question as a distinct question. I cannot know this for sure, but communciation is a subtle thing, involving intonation, body language, timing and context as well as the spoken word. These aspects are often not revealed in transcripts produced after the fact.
