Hey, read the stuff I posted on sea temperatures and multicointegration by Stern! I think it's more important than pre industrial revolution sea levels. After all, the Roman Empire was paticularly dirty and left traces of their existence in Greenland, also, Britain's air is much cleaner now than it was in the time of Charles II.
