Let those who wish to pay for defence (property security) pay for it. Let the market decide.
No doubt "the market" will decide on some level of protection if left to its own devices, but as pointed out previously on this forum, reflecting the major free-rider problems in defence provision, the level provided will be substantially less than the socially optimal level. Of course, to a Libertarian concerned only individual free choice, this is of no great concern. Most normal people, on the other hand, know that there is a case for government intervention to deal with this major market faillure.
