Indonesia is the world's most populous Islamic nation, and changed from being a corrupt dictatorship to a corrupt democracy in 2000.

The country is fraught with internal problems, corruption, ethnic and religious violence, provinces wanting to secede, and human rights abuses by government officials. Indonesia is more like an old fashioned empire than a country, and runs a risk of disintegrating.
