The programming has a high degree of foreign content. Apparently it has been useful.
It has apparently escaped the understanding of the government that a deregulated market would bring foreign programmers paying for the privilege of broadcasting the same content to Australian audiences. Instead the government buys the loyalty of the multicultural communities by wasting taxpayers money paying for it.
The best thing to do with the SBS is to sell off the infrastructure. Unlike the ABC it is not even worth giving away to Australians.
