The sun rose after the night of the long knives in NSW Liberal Party
Headquarters. The blood was mopped up we saw happy faces all around. A
politician no-one had ever heard of replaced a politician no-one wanted to
know. John (who?) Brodgen ousted Kerry
(Chikkababe) Chickarovski by just a one vote majority. The liberals were obviously fed up with Chicka, and wanted a change.
'It wasn't so much that they'd had too much of her' said her
colleagues 'They just knew they didn't want to. At least with Brogden we
might pick up some of the donkey vote. With Chikka we have no chance.' Only problem is, Brogden's policies are left of the labor party.
He's certainly left of Bob (Seriousy) Carr on
- Drug policy 'lets experiment with reforms'
- Crime 'we need a social emphasis on prevention'
- Euthanasia 'each of us can determine at which point we can end our lives'
He's going to be competing for votes with the Australian Democrats.
Natasha was furious, and instantly denied challenges to her leadership.
