From the weekend Australia (Matt Price): During a brief doorstop interview, Brown condemned the attack as "inexcusable hatred". He was invited by reporters to connect Howard's support of the US with the terror attack. "There is no indication that this has anything to do with Iraq," he replied. Brown went on to defend the Government against a suggestion travellers hadn't received adequate warnings. "I'm not going to be part of any political finger pointing," he said. The senator's crime, it seems, was - when pressed - to make this point: "We have to review the direction we're taking to concentrate on regional security, rather than being involved in the global adventurism of President Bush ... there is a real concern that I have, and many Australians hshare, that if we take part in an invasion of Iraq, it will simply heighten the risk of repeated acts of this variety." Even if Brown is wrong, "a blind fool" can see that these views aren't rancid or billous (as suggested by Andrew Bolt).
