You claim to be a Christian, yet you apparantly endorse female preaching and left-handed rowing, seeing in them no ungodliness! So this is what you mean by "Libertarian Christians" - Libertarians seeking a cloak of respectibility for their anti-social views by pretending to be Christian, but adhering to the word of God only when it suits!!! 1 Corinthians 14 could not be clearer. It says: Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
That is the Word of God; not an optional extra that you can change because it does not accord with Libertarian theology, feminist ideology or any other the political trend of the day. At least that is something which Islam has right; recognition of the equal, but different, role of women and appropriate respect for men who He has made for the purposes of leadership in the church and outside it. Certainly that is how my house is run: in accord with the Word of God, and Sarah finds nothing unfulfilling or degrading, despite the moans of feminists, with singing, education, domestic chores and other womenly pursuits, plus I also let her do the household finances, while supporting me in a leadership role within our church; just as I love and respect her too. Can you say the same? From what I have seen of "Libertarian Christians" on this site, I doubt it.
