On behalf of collectivists everywhere, may I say I applaud the Bijani sisters' courage and determination, and respect their choice to undergo surgery. It honestly never entered my head to use their deaths as evidence the state makes better decisions. What a strange idea. Plus, the Iranian government paid for the operation. I doubt it was their desire to end their 'collective' that motivated the sisters. They were going to live together after all. They just didn't want to be attached at the head any more!
