My husband I very strongly agree that Australia should have and ID card.

We also strongly agree with Senator Amanda Vanstone that the ID card should definitely have a biometric encased in the card digitally.

My husband, myself and our son have had the opportunity of accessing the Australian health system for over 30 years with not once being asked for identification other than to produce our Medicare card. This leaves the system very vulnerable to fraudulent use.

A biometric ID card would surely be great assistance to eliminate fraudulent users of our health and welfare systems.

Australians who oppose a national identity card must have lots of hidden secrets they wish to keep hidden. The majority of honest, law abiding Australian citizens do not oppose the ID card.

It is those who oppose an ID card who shout the loudest and gain attention by the media, politicians opposing the card and the Libertarian Society.
