You know I agree with you -- but how do you respond to arguments that we need to address the anticipated population shrinking? Personally, I don't think there is a *right* amount or type of people for Australia, and therefore I don't see the need to manage the birthrate, but others seem to see this as an important issue with consequences for the whole nation (defence, economies of scale, need for future workforce?) TN -- you should write a blog post on this.
