At risk of sounding like a 'gun nut', I often imagine a similar (grisly) fate might await Australians in a future, probably a decade or two hence, when numerous groups may be running amok with guns/bombs/knives and everyone will be asking 'where are the police'... but everyone's been disarmed because as we all know, the government never ever lets you down. I've never owned or used a gun. Probably wouldn't want one. On the other hand, I know if a time comes when I hear machine gun fire coming down my street, door to door, I think I'm gonna wish John (I don't understand the word liberal) Howard didn't impose his 'uncle John' safety morality on us all.
