I think Jaycar sells an electricity meter you can plug into an
extension cord. You could put one of these at both ends, and
you would only argue if someone were actually cheating,
which is unlikely since the cost of your neighbor refusing further trade is much higher than the benefit from a single defection. (this assumes of course that you are a home owner - the equation changes for renters). And of course those who skip the country just to avoid paying a Telstra bill, well .. :) Just kidding! Hope you are enjoying the land of the long white cloud. Could you possibly raise the dole payment over there? It's the only way we'll get these Kiwis off Bondi beach.
