I'd really like to know who the retard who brokered this deal with the Saudis was. They basically have the right to renege on any contract at any time, subject to the whim of their "doctor".

Scabby Mouth disease is basically ovine oral Herpes. It doesn't affect the meat in any way, and is just used by the Saudis as leverage in whatever the cause may be.

As for Terje who eats no animals except fish, do you really believe a wild fish has a better life than a domesticated sheep? They spend their entire lives scavenging for food and evading hungry predators.

Sheep, by comparison, sit idly in their paddocks, with nary a care in the world except the occasional inconvenience of a bossy dog telling them to please move to the next paddock.

Domesticated sheep experience a lower infant mortality rate and a less troublesome life than humans in many third world nations. The only inconvenience is that they get shipped off to be made into chops at some stage.

As someone who routinely kills animals as well as eats them, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if a sheep was slaughtered at a barbecue. As long as enough time elapsed between the stench passing and the eating, I think my stomach would hold up. In fact, I've gone to more than 1 cookup where everyone helped out with the butchering before the spit was rolled out. It's a tradition in many country towns.

The biggest problem with the live sheep trade is that the cartel running it can't even find themselves someone capable of negotiating a decent contract. Fix that, and you'd never hear about it again except from the whackos in the ALF.
