I think that if Hicks is
- tried;
- found guilty;
- sentenced to more than 10 years non-parole
all without any serious Hicksups before the next Federal election
then it won't matter. Otherwise it's going to be dark cloud
over Johnny's election campaign. As for illegal combatant - not being recognized by the Geneva Convention does not make someone a criminal.
Regardless of what some proponent of 'International Law' claims, someone is a criminal because of their own actions,
not the actions (or inactions) of someone else. Even an committee of international public servants.
