It has been surprising how few horror stories of woeful workplace injustice the media has been able to find over the last few days. Aside from Betty in Tassie, the only other example of egregious breaching of workers rights by Howard's greedy capitalist base I have heard of is the shifting of some cabinet makers in Melbourne to a casual employment arrangement. I would have thought the legions of reporters around the country could have come up with something a little more shocking than a small matter involving a small number of workers in small company in a depressed industry. It goes to show how mild and middling these changs are, despite the best efforts of all involved to paint them as "radical" or "revolutionary".
