>> What schools teaches children to call soldiers 'harm workers'? My cousin (now 34) was taught this at her school in Melbourne. I don't know
the name of the school, but I assure you it is true. She is also currently up
on a charge which carries a possible prison sentence. Another success of our
socialist education system. >> What would you teach is the concept of being Australian? I presume you mean 'teach as ...'? A lot less negativity and a lot less apologizing for a start. And my
children will never say 'sorry' for something they didn't do. My children are
taught that someone claiming 'traditional cultural practice' is not immune from
criticism. And they are taught that being poor does not give you the right to
live in someone else's home. >> How do you avoid multiculturalism in doing that in a country of
immigrants?
- No one has the right to be paid simply for being different.
- Anyone who doesn't like the way Australia works doesn't have to come here.
I don't go into someone else's house and tell them how to rearrange the
furniture. I have no obligation to tolerate someone doing that to me.
The last time a Taiwanese said to me "Australia has no right to stop us
coming here because they stole the land from the Aborigines" got a very short
and sharp lesson about living in glass houses, and the traditional Taiwanese
'mountain people'. The prospect of 10 million Africans using the same
justification to invade her own country was a little discomforting. The fact that a whole lot of people, who are now dead, did something
immoral doesn't give someone else the right to do it too. Australian children are taught to tolerate this hypocrisy under the banner of
'tolerance' and 'cultural relativism'. >> Why do you think anyone would believe Australia lacks the "will" to defend
>> itself? What does that mean? Personally I got a little sick of leftie morons at parties coming up with lines
like:
But every invader has brought something with them. You shouldn't really criticize
them for that. [Specifically she was referring to Indonesia's invasion of East Timor].
Yes, this is a real conversation. She was only a bit drunk, and far to
stupid to be worth seducing. Maybe you mix with more intelligent lefties than I
do. There must be some out there. People are taught to believe that the best defense is to lie down and let
someone kill you. >> A collective can't have will, only individuals. A block of wood can't have momentum, only atoms? Get real. Collective will is very real. It consists of individuals recognizing they
have the ability to achieve something together - whether it's starting a
business, building a bridge, pushing someone's car out of a bog, raping a
football groupie, or looting a neighboring country. It is very real. >> What do you define as "the Australian spirit", and what attacks have the
>> Left thrown at it? See above. >> You should know by now that hyperbole impresses nobody
>> here. Thank you for speaking on behalf of the collective. The article was truthful, and prompted some interesting discussion, and
even prompted some people to think about the issues. I regard that as success. This is the Internet, you don't have to read it. Unlike our socialist
education system, no-one is force-feeding it to you.
