Obviously Strawman has never commuted to work in the Silicon Valley. As someone who did for years, I can safely say that any suggestion that Silicon Valley's sprawl is a model of sensible development is severely misguided. The notion that things are "Close in time" on those "big freeways" is absolutely laughable. The fact is that dense urban cores are much more efficient, as long as the people working in the urban core *live* in the urban core. Building those big freeways and subsidizing mass transit encourages people to move away from the core. -Cronus
