I did not say that putting resources into making contact was your argument. I said that because of your argument [that life existed on this planet], <-- COMMA that we should put resources into making contact with them.
If I were to rephrase in way that won't strain your limited reading abilities;
"We should put every available resource into making contact with the advanced alien species because your argument that they exist is so compelling".
Committing the resources was MY (sarcastic) suggestion to YOUR (serious) argument that life was guaranteed to be there.
