RESPONSE: It seems to me that this issue is more to do with racial tension than beach ownership. Beaches in Australia have pretty much always been a commons but the problems you are describing are relatively recent. QUOTE: Having dealt in buying and selling quite alot, I have got to say that the current regime (ie without a gold standard) seems to work well.
