I'd suggest that in an equitable system, an unmarried* man would have no right to participate in the decision over whether a foetus should be terminated or not, and therefore no legal responsibility for the upkeep of the child. * marriage being a contract between two people that includes (presumably) a clause on rights and responsibilities of children - conception, birth and upbringing.
