You might be interested to know, there is already case law on this. An Iranian guy claimed asylum, and thought he would spice up his case by a letter to the Iranian embassy telling them what he thought of them. The application was refused, and he appealed to the Federal Court on the ground that on the facts he satisfied the criterion for refugee status, namely, 'well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, political opinion, nationality, or membership of a particular social group'. The Court refused it on the ground that you can't deliberately do the act that creates the risk of being persecuted so as to enhance a claim to asylum. Australia deported him. On his return to Teheran, he was taken out the back of the airport building, and shot dead. His name was Heshmati.
