Work for the Dole is rubbish. There's very little point in forcing unemployed people to look for work unless we are at a state of full employment. Even if they did get off their lazy asses and actually find a job, all that means is that someone, somewhere else lost theirs. The concept of getting them to build infrastructure has merit, but would suffer too much political backlash to ever become possible. There are plenty of useful projects that we actually NEED completed to put them to work. The problem is that people cry "forced labour" whenever it is discussed.
