I'm not sure I u/stand why you hate the ALP so much? How as Libertarians can you prefer the Conservative Howard government? (or do you?) The ALP is not the socialist party it used to be. It introduced economic rat. before the 'libs' did after all. Also, they're socially progressive - which is after all what you stand for isn't it? As I see it:
ALP - somewhat small gov't and totally socially liberal
LIBS- totally socially conservative and small gov't. Doesn't labor have more in common with you?
